Portable air purifiers
February 1st 2007

Designed for the healthcare sector, the NQ and NQ500 air purifiers from Hanovia provide increased protection from airborne pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, fungi and spores.

The wheeled units are said to be suitable for localised protection in areas such as intensive care units, isolation wards (positive and negative pressure), clean rooms, and for more general air treatment in, for example, waiting rooms and offices.

The device uses a combination of multi-level filtration, including a 99.97%, 0.3µm HEPA filter, and UV disinfection. Filters remove virtually all microorganisms, as well as VOCs, odours, chemicals, pollen and other small particles.

The four lamp UV-C disinfection system provides extra protection, killing any remaining microorganisms.

Clinical trials in France concluded that both the NQ and NQ 500 demonstrated high efficacy at totally removing the airborne spore TCS within a very short period of time in a 'nonsealed' hospital bedroom.
