Ready for emergencies
April 1st 2004

To ensure the safety of personnel involved in construction of the Dublin Port Tunnel, the Nishimatsu Construction Company commissioned Respro to install a Rescue Room.

Respro, specified seven Draeger BG4 closed-circuit breathing apparatus sets and Draeger resuscitators, dryers, compressors and other equipment.

Malcolm Holden, Nishimatsu rescue training manager, says Used by emergency services across Europe and by the mining industry around the world, the BG4 has a 4h duration and is capable of both short and long range operations. Of particular benefit is the fact that the oxygen supply can be interrupted and re-started at will.

Inhalation and exhalation hoses are worn over each shoulder, allowing the head to be turned without dis-comfort or reduced visibility.
