Ceiling ventilation
May 1st 2009

VRS Precision Engineering manufactures precision components for a range of industries. With 21 machine tools at its facility, the company observed a continual film of oil and dust.

There was also a smell of coolant and oil in the air. To eradicate the problem VRS installed two ceiling ventilation systems from Air Cleaning Systems (ACS). The ceiling holder units immediately reduced workshop smells and atmospheric particles to improve staff working conditions.

When VRS procured a Matsuura 800VG11 and a Matsuura 1000VG vertical machining centre, to cope with the high levels of swarf, smoke and coolant mist generated ACS seamlessly fitted colour coded filtration systems.

Thanks to the systems, the machinists are free from the airborne particles and the smells that emanate from a machine tool.
