DOWNWARD AIR FLOW FOR PARTS CLEANING
October 1st 2004

When operators apply compressed air to remove oil residue and swarf from machined parts, the resultant mist can pollute the factory. To alleviate this, Air Cleaning Systems (acs) has introduced the BDB500 Blow down bench.

The part to be cleaned is placed onto the perforated worktop of the cabinet. As soon as the operator presses the pedal, a downward airflow will come into operation that will entrain the oil residue and solid particles and deposit them in a bin at the base of the unit. Air is subsequently filtered and returned to the factory.

A safety-type air gun will assist in the cleaning of the part and, as this takes place within an enclosure, no pollution will escape into the air.
