SEMI-DISPOSABLE AIR-FED SYSTEM
February 1st 2004

The Spider system from Professional Protection Systems helps maximise the life of the air fed respiratory suit.

The system divides the internal respiratory system and the suit shell or envelope into two separate entities. In the normal course of events, the suit shell suffers the brunt of wear, so is removed from service for repair more often than the air system.

PPS decided, therefore, to develop a semi-disposable air-fed system independent of the suit. The Spider system can be slipped on as easily as a sweater and is ready for action in seconds.

The company stresses that the system should not be regarded as a replacement for multi-use air fed suits and says that it was designed for use with disposables or semi-disposables where cost and replacement after use are major procurement issues.
