New from Adco Group is the Mistral powered air respirator. The rugged and powerful device produces flow rates to 200l/min, yet remains comfortable to use due to its compact and lightweight design. The respirator is available with an integral battery or with a separate waist belt-mounted battery pack for maximum versatility and user convenience. Both options yield a minimum 8h duration per charge, depending on environment, battery history and battery charge. The Mistral comes with battery charger; intelligent chargers and multi-charger units are also available. The company says that, in addition to being lightweight, the Nickel Metal Hydride battery packs do not suffer from the memory effect associated with NiCad rechargeable systems. A selection of headpieces, including full face masks, helmets, browguards and caped hoods are available, as are hepa P3 filters to cover standard industrial particulate requirements.
