Deals with metal dust
December 1st 2008

Surface metal dust from a dedicated stainless steel fabrication cell at ERI of Oldbury is being removed by a Nonflam W220 unit, specified and installed by Carter Environmental Engineers (CEE).

ERI, a subsidiary of Estrella Group, manufactures fixtures and equipment for the retail, banking and other sectors and its manufacturing facility houses the latest technology, including hightech CNC woodworking machines, laminate and membrane presses, laser cutting machinery and specialised welding equipment.

Nonflam collectors use a water-filled tank through which dust and residues are drawn by an impellor fan.

They are available with a range of fans precisely rated for individual applications – up to 22kW in cases where it is necessary to remove sticky or oily dust from the metal being treated.

Particles drawn in by the fan sink to the base of the collection tank, where they may be easily removed by raking into a container.

Automatic sludge removal systems are also available.

Carter-Thorne can supply all ducting and an installation service, with advice on COSHH requirements.
