Doh! A model solution
April 1st 2005

Slotz of Birmingham specialises in modelling popular media figures and has installed an AirBench from WorkPoint Environments to ensure safe, dust-free working for its model makers.

Pictured above, Marge Simpson gets a make-over, while Homer checks out the uniform velocity achieved over the down-draught perforated surface. Filters and fanset are located underneath. The bench is of a plug-and-go design that avoids the need for ducting and site work.

The AirBench filters through two stages to H10 grade, while speed control allows modellers to set the best capture rate for each task. This configuration is said to be widely used in model making to handle a variety of dusts.
