Laser marking, engraving, welding and cutting systems are widely used throughout industry to process a varied range of materials.

Most lasers burn away layers of the material to make a cut or mark, causing the emission of toxicological particles and gas. Even seemingly harmless materials such as cardboard and paper labels can produce respirable dust and formaldehyde.

It is imperative that the operator is not exposed to hazardous fumes and any extraction system installed should take into account factors such as laser make, airflow required, volume of hazardous material produced and fume composition.
