Breathe easy with new filter
October 1st 2007

3M has developed a combination filter which takes the lightweight qualities of a filter and

encases them in the protective shell of a cartridge.

Primarily designed for use in the extreme conditions of the aluminium smelting industry, the 6038 filter can also be used to protect those working in welding, asbestos inspections and sampling, grinding or sanding, mining, agriculture and healthcare.

Enclosed in a rectangular plastic housing which protects against splashes and sparks, and allows for easy decontamination, the inner filter media is pleated to increase surface area.

Other benefits claimed are low breathing resistance and, with a pair of 6038 filters weighing just 86 grams, users welcome the light feel to their respiratory protection.

The company says the filter does not easily clog or cake.

The first 50 people to respond will receive a FREE 9300 foldable disposable respirator.
