Addressable gas detector
August 1st 2007

The new Crowcon Hydra addressable gas detection system can detect from vehicle exhausts toxic gases such as carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen and petrol vapour, in enclosed or underground carparks.

Many car parks run ventilator fans continuously but, says Crowcon, this is inefficient and energy intensive. With the Hydra, fans only run when required.

The company says that addressable gas detector systems cost less to install than conventional point-topoint systems, with a single control unit able to monitor up to 120 detector heads.

The control unit provides a continuous, easy-to-read, backlit LCD of all operating conditions and gas levels.
