Atex-certified sensor detects carbon dioxide October 1st 2008 GMI has introduced a carbon
dioxide sensor for the VISA
personal gas detector. The
new sensor detects CO2 by
infrared in the range 0 to
5% volume resolving to
0.05% and provides Hi Hi
Alarm at 2.5%, STEL alarm
at 1.5% and LTEL (TWA)
alarm at 0.5%. It is ATEX
certified for use in confined
space applications.
Accuracy of detection is
ensured as the infrared
detection principal adopted
is not affected by any crosssensitivity
or pollution from
other gases. A further
feature of the infrared
sensor is its life span; GMI
warranty covers the cell for
4 years, with expected life
of more than 5 years.
Typical applications
include confined space
monitoring and personal
protection in the nuclear,
gas and brewing industries. More articles from Gas Measurement Instruments Ltd: |
