Gas cylinder tampering warning
May 1st 2009

LPG supplier, Calor Gas , is warning of the danger of a worrying new trend of making wood burning stoves out of old LPG cylinders.

LPG cylinders are used to fuel a variety of gas appliances s and are used safely by millions of people.

However, the company is warning that misuse or tampering can result in serious injury or death.

Cutting up old LPG cylinders is dangerous because LPG is a highly flammable material and if a welding torch or power cutter is used on a LPG cylinder, even if it contains no apparent liquid, it can explode violently.
