February 1st 2010

Entry into confined spaced or areas where explosive or toxic gases may be present demand that a gas monitor is worn.

Usually these explosive gas include Methane, Oxygen depletion, Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen Sulphide. But not always.

Frequently solvents or Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are present. Other toxic gases including Chlorine, Nitrogen Oxides, Sulphur Dioxide etc. may be present or Carbon Dioxide may pose a threat.

With the capability to measure up to 6 gases in one compact personal monitor the PHD6 from Shawcity is said to give unrivalled protection.

There are 18 different sensor options and a mixture of sensor technology can be accommodated. A Photoionisation Detector (PID) is available for VOC measurement. Infra-red sensors for CO2 and Methane, conventional LEL, Oxygen plus 15 different toxic sensors.

With rechargeable li-ion batteries or interchangeable alkaline batteries you can operate for 24 hours. Find out more at Health & Safety 10 - South, Stand 12.
