Laser-based system
October 1st 2004

Casella ETi has launched what it believes is the UK’s first tuneable diode laser emissions monitoring system with ATEX approval for use in hazardous areas.

Proven technology in cross duct analysis of continuous emissions monitoring from within stacks enables measurement of average concentrations of gas in the ambient environment to a distance of 500m.

Use of tuneable diode laser (TDL) technology, makes possible monitoring of a single absorption line in the near infrared spectrum and eliminates cross interference by other gases. The TDL approach is said to enable very low detection limits, to PPB levels, for many gases.

The system is described as easy to set-up and align.
