Methane detector
October 1st 2010

New from Crowcon Detection Instruments, the LaserMethane mini Gen2 (LMm) portable methane detector is designed specifically to detect methane at distance of up to 20m in seconds. With the ATEX approved, second generation LMm, what used to be a time consuming and potentially hazardous procedure is now quick and easy, claims Crowcon.

The LMm is very easy to operate.

By pointing the device's laser beam towards a suspected leak or survey line, such as a gas pipe or ceiling, the concentration of methane is measured by detecting the difference between the light emitted and the light received.

Weighing just 600g including the battery, and measuring 70 x 179 x 42mm , features include a full colour numeric or graphical display, audio and visual alarms, and six hours minimum battery life per charge with a four hour recharge.
