Partners in gas detection
December 1st 2005

Ashtead Technology Rentals and RAE Systems have signed a new partnership agreement in the UK in which Ashtead will become RAE's preferred rental partner.

RAE Systems makes toxic gas monitors and photoionisation detectors (PIDs) such as the MiniRAE 2000.

James Carlyle of Ashtead believes RAE products will prove popular with rental customers in the environmental sector. He says "The incorporation of a highly sensitive PID within a normal toxic gas detector means customers will be able to detect a wide range of toxic and hazardous gases with one cost effective unit."

PIDS are very sensitive to a wide range of volatile organic compounds, which makes them good detectors of such products as solvent, adhesives, petrochemicals
