Air quality monitors
December 1st 2004

Direct Sense indoor air quality monitors from American manufacturer Gray Wolfe capitalise on the power and increasing popularity of palm-held and hand-held computer platforms to produce an easy-to-use particulate and environmental data collection instrument.

Instruments are made in Ireland and available in the UK from Enviro Technology Services.

Two models are offered. Suitable for industrial applications where there is a hazard from specific gases, the TOX toxic gas monitor will measure, datalog and document up to five compounds from SO2, NO2, NO, CO, H2S, HCN, ETOX, CL2, O2, NH3 and more.

Additionally, each probe will provide F and C temperature readings.

Providing snap-shot instantaneous data capture or long-term trend monitoring measurements, data is stored along with text, graphics or audio notes.

Using the same compact, wand-like form, the Direct Sense IAQ monitor measures CO, CO2, %rh, temperature and dewpoint, with options for airspeed and particulate mass concentration monitoring.
