Checking for VOCs December 1st 2006 A contract has been awarded to Ion Science by the Marine Environmental Survivability and Habitability Integrated Project Team of the Ministry of Defence to supply and provide inservice support for 20 PhoCheck+ 1000 photoionisation detectors for use on Royal Navy submarines. The instruments will be used as occupational hygiene tools to detect levels of total volatile organic compounds in the atmosphere. This will ensure that those serving on the submarines will not be exposed to harmful levels of VOCs. The PhoCheck+ 1000 is an intrinsically safe photoionisation detector with a range from 0.1 to 4000ppm. It has an in-built gas table detailing more than 250 gases and their corresponding response factors. More articles from ION Science Ltd: |
