Handles asbestos
October 1st 2004

A new powered respirator system from Chapman & Smith is designed to protect those stripping and handling asbestos.

The Safir Clean-Air Asbest can be used in three ways:

Full system with the full-face mask connected by a flexible air-hose to a motorised filtration unit that is carried on an adjustable waist-belt.

Compact system: with the turbo filtration unit fitted directly to the face-mask without the use of the air-hose or waist belt

General industrial system in a negative pressure mode, using a screw-in P3 filter cartridge mounted directly onto the face mask. This system can use any of the range of DIRIN EN148/1 screw-in filter cartridges offered by Chapman & Smith.

For users who need to shower immediately after work, the turbo filtration unit of the respirator is waterproof.
