RESPIRATOR WITH HELMET AND SCREEN April 1st 2005 The latest addition to Chapman & Smith’s range of industrial respiratory equipment is the Safir Clean-Air CAB4, a powered respirator system that combines a safety helmet and lightweight face screen in one unit.
However, the screen is not intended to offer face or eye protection to the impact or visual performance of EN166. If this is required, the helmet can be fitted with flip-up visor that conforms to EN166.
The unit’s turbo-fan is powered by a rechargeable battery pack carried behind the wearer’s back on a belt.
Filtered air is fed to the face shield along a lightweight, flexible hose.
Air enters the shield behind the top of the head and exits below the chin.
Such air-flow across the visor is said to prevent misting.
CAB-4 can be used as a dual-flow version or as a flow-control version with audio/visual warnings of low air flow, plus battery and filter status. More articles from Chapman And Smith: |
