Welding talk
May 1st 2010

3M held two presentations at the Association of Welding Distributors (AWD) inaugural Fume Focus Group Seminar this April.

Part of the AWD's Welding World exhibition which took place at Crewe Hall, Cheshire, the seminar provided a platform for senior representatives from 3M's Occupational Health & Environmental Safety Group to discuss respiratory hazards in welding as well as give guidance on respiratory protective equipment (RPE) for the welder.

Aicha Kabil, marketing executive reusable respiratory and welding equipment at 3M, explains: "As well as optical and skin hazards, welding generates harmful airborne particles which can cause significant long-term health issues if correct exposure is not controlled properly."
