DRIVE TO INCREASE EXPORTING SU October 1st 2008 Changes last year within the former DTI and UK Trade and Investments triggered a hard look at the ways in which British companies might gain support for their exporting ambitions. With less promotional support funding available, the BSIF initiated a review of the position of the safety industry sector in the UK, having, as it does, many world class manufacturers, many of whom are small and medium sized Enterprises, who are keen to develop their overseas markets.
Earlier this year, discussions between the BSIF, the Fire Industry sector and the Security Industry's Trade Body enabled a joint link to be forged with the exporting initiatives being progressed by the Defence sector. This provided the Safety, Security and Fire industries with a vital link to much expanded support funding and, by leveraging the close synergy with defence marketing initiatives, a much wider range of event and country market opportunities.
The first combined event will take place on 8th and 9th December, when the BSIF will be able to provide introductions for safety industry manufacturers to overseas buyers and the commercial attaches in overseas markets. Details of this International Colloquium can be gained directly from BSIF. More articles from BSIF Enterprise: |
