The fact that the seasonal weather is not as predicable as usual will not change the desire of most people to take their annual holidays in July and August and this will add pressure to business managers to ensure that health and safety procedures are in place and covered whilst their safety officers are away on leave. It will also increase the general workload while everybody attempts to leave a clear desk before they depart.

The BSIF is no different and preparations are now in hand to set up and manageits annual Networking Day (8th October is the date for your diary), the BSIF's involvement with the A+A Exhibition (September thisyear), the Autumn programme for the ‘It's in your hands’ campaign and BSIF Directors Club events.

Current activities to be progressed before the holiday season effectively places a temporary halt to some proceedings, including the creation of new educational initiatives for Fit-Test training and PPE Selection, joint activities with the HSE to clarify the best ways to bring about more informative COSHH material data-sheets and promotion of the BSIF Innovation Award winning products and services.

As a trade body, the BSIF’s prime mission is to support its members. In doing this, it has always acknowledged its responsibility as a public service provider in the knowledge that this too will assist the understanding of their clients towards good health and safety practices. Contact us if you believe that the BSIF can help you or your company. We hope that you find something of interest within our BSIF pages and will welcome any comments - through the Editor please.
