Networking day ‘best yet’
October 1st 2007

One of the key advantages of membership of the BSIF is the opportunity to informally network with other BSIF members, discussing areas of mutual interest and understanding the differing views from each sector of the market.

This year’s BSIF Networking Day, held on the 8th October at the Forest of Arden hotel, was refocused to allow more time for networking and this change of emphasis was very well received.

With over 160 delegates, each taking part in a day time activity of golf, karting or country pursuits, the event was fully booked, with a waiting list.

David Lummis of BSIF Enterprises comments “Following the well tried format of previous years, but creating more networking time, returned the event to its main aim which is to allow BSIF members to meet together informally. 2008’s event will continue this re-emphasis’. The evening’s Gala Dinner was preceded by an informal wine tasting (noticeably the Rioja Grand Reserva was ‘tasted’ more regularly than the Crianza!). The evenings entertainment was by Steve Nallon an impressionist from the TV.

During dinner, prizes were presented to the winners of the daytime activities and both David Lummis and Geoff Hooke made short speeches. Geoff, in particular, highlighted BSIF’s successes of the past and stressed the need for continues support of the federation. A key message was the need for fresh faces to step up to the mark and take over, where some of the ‘old guard’ are retiring. Geoff was particularly encouraged by the new talent coming into the industry and looked forward to their involvement with BSIF and the important issues it now faces.

We received numerous positive comments and look forward to next years event in October 2008.
