Registered Safety Supplier Scheme - developments
May 1st 2010

The BSIF Registered Safety Supplier scheme, launched in January to support its mission to eliminate counterfeit and illegal products, has met with a significant take-up by manufacturers and distributors of PPE and safety equipment and more are joining on a weekly basis. Geoff Hooke, Secretary General to the BSIF said: "Most of the UK PPE Manufacturers and the major UK Safety Distributors are now registered within the scheme. We anticipate that most BSIF members will want to enhance their credentials as suppliers of CE legal safety products as soon as possible."

Members of the scheme need to sign a formal declaration that is subject to inspection through their ISO 9001 quality system audits each year, providing assurances to purchasers that the products being offered for sale are legal and do exactly what they claim to do. More details can be found at www.bsif.co.uk.
