'Clean Air? - Take Care!' and Fit2Fit to launch in Autumn September 1st 2009 The "Clean Air? - Take Care!" campaign, jointly initiated by the HSE and the BSIF, has two prime objectives. Phase one which takes place over the next year, seeks to ensure that everyone using respiratory protective equipment [RPE] is using the correct kit and has been fully trained in its use. Supported by several other safety industry stakeholders, including IOSH, Safety Groups UK and the BOHS the campaign activities and publicity will be rolled-out this Autumn.
Phase two, due to commence next summer, will change the campaign focus towards the estimated three million people currently exposed to respiratory hazards who have not been provided with RPE.
This will be achieved by convincing employers of the need for appropriate risk assessments, specifically targeting information towards managers of small and medium sized companies. Throughout the whole of this period and also starting this Autumn, will be the commencement of the Fit2Fit accreditation for RPE fit-testers. More articles from BSIF Enterprise: |
