Simple method of tracing utilities June 1st 2006 The Ridge Tool Company has introduced a new device for underground utility surveyors that it believes will be easier to use and offer higher performance than its competitors.
Aimed at those working towards standardised mapping techniques for underground services, the Ridgid SeekTech SR-20 uses a combination of multidirectional antennae, mapping display and stateof- the-art processing to provide information.
Using a combination of readings, the user can quickly and easily confirm a good signal and locate, or realise that there is distortion due to signal coupling in congested areas.
In congested areas, the additional data provided by the SR-20 lets the user work through the distortion and provides an accurate and more confident locate.
The device also offers advanced passive modes that can be used to search for other metallic lines.
