Rigid rail fall arrest
June 1st 2008

Bomac Engineering of Australia chose this year's Safety and Health Expo as the venue at which to present to the European market its Altrac rigid fall arrest system and light duty cranes, available through its subsidiary operation Bomac Europe.

To meet European compliance for fall arrest purposes, Altrac has achieved EN795 certification.

However, the company points out that, should a fall occur, how the victim is retrieved is also a very important consideration. It is necessary to act quickly and safely to rescue the person within a short length of time; otherwise their body will start to go into shock.

Bomac says that in the event of a fall situation, the Altrac system does not collapse and other users on the rail are not displaced.

This means an effective rescue plan can be put into action to retrieve the victim using the Altrac system itself.
