Grinding down the vibes
June 1st 2008

Vibration control is a key consideration for Bosch, and its range of large, top-end grinders, with main and side handle vibration control systems, has been available for some years.

When it comes to SDS drills and breakers the GSH 16-28 Professional and the updated GBH 4-32DFR Professional demonstrate both low vibration and high productivity.

Bosch believes the GSH 16 to have the lowest tri-axial vibration reading in its class, coming in at 10m/s2 in accordance with EN60745.

The GBH 4-32, known as the 'Multidrill', has values of 8m/s2 (drilling) and 7m/s2 (chiseling). Both have builtin vibration control systems and floating rear handles.

User safety is epitomised by the GWS 11-125CI Professional mini grinder.

Features include vibration control side handle, giving up to 70% less vibration; bullet-proof guard to protect the user in the event of disc breakage; restart protection through its microprocessor, and special kickback stop system.

Dust control too is a growing issue. Extraction on the compact and low weight Bosch GBH 2-23REA Professional SDS hammer drill comprises a removable micro-filter system with exchangeable element, a vision panel with fill level indicator for the dust collection box, integrated depth stop and transparent dust collection chute at the point of drilling.
