Ladder stabiliser
June 1st 2006

A ladder stabiliser from Zarges UK has been developed to enhance the safety of any standard ladder so that it meets the requirements of the Work at Height Regulations 2005.

The universal stabiliser can be firmly secured to the feet of existing ladders, thereby providing an effective anti-slip device as required by the Regulations where no other means of securing the ladder is available.

The stabiliser bar provides two extended and extra points of contact with the ground and its non-slip rubber end caps act to minimise any possibility of slippage.

Alistair Twigg of Zarges UK comments "Although the Regulations preclude the use of ladders where alternative platforms can be used, there are jobs for which platforms or towers are not suitable and where a ladder is the only practicable equipment.

In those cases, it is essential that ladder stiles should be secured at both ends or, where that is not possible, a stability and anti-slip device must be used."

A free advisory service is offered.
