firms operating within the
construction sector need to
protect themselves against
the growing threat of
litigation brought by injured
employees lured by no-win no
fee law firms.
Although fatalities within
the sector have been
dropping, compensation
culture does not just focus on
major injuries, claims the
company, and employers
need to ensure risk
assessments, appropriate
levels of PPE and continuous
training are put in place to
reduce the threat of on-site
injuries and subsequent
litigation.
The company has
established a hand and arm
protection training
programme for the
construction industry and
believes revisiting core worker
protection issues, such as
hand protection, to ensure
the right gloves are being
used for the tasks undertaken
on site and underpinning this
with on-site training and
education can make
significant inroads into
