Curbing risks
August 1st 2004

A-Plant has extended its mechanical lifting aids to enable local authorities and contractors involved in kerb-laying to comply with the HSEs move to prohibit the laying of kerbstones by anything other than mechanical means.

A-Plants main plant and tool hire shops divisions offer for hire a wide range of kerb-laying machines that provide a mechanical lifting force and help reduce the risk of

handling injuries.

Products include the Jumbo BV vacuum kerb-laying machine made by Probst. The machine can lift up to 200kg and different lifting heads can be interchanged to enable workers to lift up to several different concrete items.

Use of the Jumbo BV enables up to 500m of kerbs to be laid safely and efficiently every day.
