The ASAP is the new rope mounted fall arrest device from Petzl. Easy to install and simple to use, the ASAP locks in response to shock loading and overspeeding, by means of a rotating toothed jammer.

Thus it can be used on sloping surfaces, as well as protecting rope access technicians working in suspension or technicians climbing on a structure. It can be installed at any point on the rope – there is no need to thread it on.

It can be towed both up and down the rope without requiring any manual action. It stays above the user when descending, thus limiting the potential fall distance. Unlike many mobile fall arrestors on the market, the ASAP will jam even if caught in a ‘panic grab’ during a fall. At just 430g for the ASAP and connecting karabiner, the ASAP offers a lightweight and versatile means of protecting workers at height.

The ASAP conforms to EN353-2 and accepts ropes from 10.5 to 13mm dia.
