An employer must do all that is reasonably practicable to prevent falls: avoid work at height where possible, use equipment or other measures to prevent falls and, where the risk of a fall cannot be eliminated, use equipment to minimise the distance and consequences of a fall .

All businesses must ensure that a full risk assessment is completed, that correct equipment is selected, and that those carrying out the task are competent in the use of that equipment. Equipment should be inspected on a regular basis.

Ladderstore.com is dedicated to supplying the right equipment for the job and providing health and safety information. It offers training in the use of ladders and access equipment and inspection procedures. It can also supply a Ladder Tag Pack that contains inspection tags and indelible pens in a handy bag.
