Meeting growing demand
June 1st 2007

With the Work at Height Regulations driving forward the use of small powered access machines, AFI-Uplift reports an increase in demand from companies wanting to hire units for lower access work.

For example, a total of 12 AFI Pop-Up machines, together with three Skyjack SJ3219 scissor lifts are being hired by EA Electrical to aid installation of fire prevention and alarm systems at the prestigious Bankside 2/3 development on Southwark Street behind the Tate Modern in London. Bovis Lend Lease is the main contractor.

Brian McLean, Purchasing Manager for EA Electrical says "The Pop-Up meets all our requirements and is perfect for the job. These machines are so user-friendly, versatile and light that it is possible that we would be using them anyway by now, regardless of the legislation".

Battery-powered, Pop-Up has a reach height of 3.63m, a closed height of 1.64m and a width of just 0.7m, enabling it to be manoeuvred into standard lifts, moved along corridors and through offices with ease.
