Products pass airport test April 1st 2008 Venta UK's products for
directing, managing and
corralling passengers during
an emergency have been
successfully tested at Cardiff
International Airport during
an emergency exercise.
Forty volunteers evacuated
a Boeing 767 and were
directed to assembly points
via Venta UK's ActivSign II
message system and vehiclemounted
tannoy.
ActivSign II is a standalone,
weatherproof system
with onboard memory that
allows it to retain up to 80
user-programmed messages
up to 112 characters long
with eight or 16 characters
visual at one time.
At Cardiff, it was used to
direct people away from the
aircraft to the assembly
point, clearing the way for
the emergency services.
Other equipment used in
the exercise included
TriSign, a three-sided
reflective assembly point
sign that folds and can be
deployed in seconds and
SpaceSaver Cone, a fold-flat
cone that has an LED
flashing and steady burn
illumination that will run for
300h.
A key component of the
Passenger Evacuation
Assembly Point) was Venta
UK's Reflex Rope, a retroreflective
rope that lights up
in headlights or torchlight.
It features cone loops,
which were combined with
the TriSigns to create a
passenger corralling area. More articles from Venta UK: |
