Ergonomic solution to bottlenecks
October 1st 2007

Operating at a belt speed of 1m/sec, a Caljan FastTrack telescopic conveyor can supply two operators, working in unison, with a steady influx of parcels.

Optimal working conditions are ensured by an ergonomic and safe design.

The company says that installing Caljan FastTrack in a new terminal building means that you can manage target capacity with fewer doors. The building budget can be reduced for each door you save.

Incorporating the system into in-feed lines is said to enable capacity to be increased in existing terminals too. The number of conveyors installed can be reduced if Caljan FastTrack is fitted on a rail carriage. It can then service several doors by moving parallel to the loading bay. With an extendibility of 15.3m, the telescopic conveyor can reach into all standard trucks, ensuring that the loading process is ergonomic, as well as efficient. A steel side plate enables the operator to turn while the parcel is supported by the conveyor, avoiding lifting and rotating simultaneously.
