Pusher units
June 1st 2005

boost safety Ibstock Brick in Sussex uses two Nu-Star Super Pushers to push up to 24 drier cars in drying tunnels where the bricks are dried before going into the kiln.

A full line of cars weighs about 38t.

The job used to be done by an old petrol-powered Gravely tractor unit, but due to the age of the machine spares were becoming difficult to source and a battery powered solution was considered preferable to prevent any health and safety issues related to exhaust gases.

The Super Pusher is part of the Nu-Star range of battery powered electric tug units that are available to purchase or rent.
