TruckLOG access control, shock sensing and data logging modules from Davis Derby are fitted to Kerrygold's 30-strong fork lift truck fleet. In addition to improving safety and reducing damage, they have provided a return on investment within six months of installation.

The TruckLOG driver termination report, for example, has helped prevent electrocutions that can be caused when batteries are disconnected from the charging bays while vehicles are enabled and logged on.

The log tells Kerrygold who was logged on, when, and how they logged off.

The shock sensing system has helped the company identify the condition of its floor areas. There had been a number of FLT repairs where floor bolts were shearing and subsequently drive motors and gearboxes were damaged. Maintenance charges were high.

The shock data reported by the system allows a proactive approach.

Kerrygold responded to the information by repairing the poor floor surfaces which has stopped further incidents of this kind.

Driving practice too has improved since truckLOG was installed and this has led to significant improvements in departmental efficiencies.
