Boom lowers injury risk
August 1st 2008

Construction industry supplier SIG has bought lead booms from Invicta Forks & Attachments to reduce manual handling risks for personnel in its roofing division.

SIG Roofing Supplies routinely handles heavy rolls of lead. The booms have enabled these to be handled more easily and has simplified the operation of loading them onto vans. The need for manual handling has been reduced and the risk of injury lowered.

A key safety feature is a fully automatic heel pin retention. This is said to eliminate any possibility of the attachment slipping off the forks during handling.
