Installation of automated work positioners from Kentruck has resulted in improved employee safety and productivity at furniture producer Roundel Manufacturing of Washington, Tyne & Wear.

The company uses four GXN1200 Giraffe units that obviate the need for manual handling from floor-stacked in-process furniture panels.

The GXN initially operates as a conventional pallet truck, enabling bulk panel stocks to be manoeuvred to the workstation.

Once the stack height has been manually positioned, a simple setting of the electronic height adjuster, that inches up the stack as units are removed, is all that is required to present each panel at the optimum level for transfer.

Overstretching is avoided and transfer simplified.
