'no go' until safety checks completed
August 1st 2007

The new EquipManager fleet management and monitoring system from Lamerholm means a forklift fleet cannot be operated until a comprehensive, interactive safety check has been completed.

Drivers are led through a programmable series of yes or no questions on the dashboard-mounted, audiovisual display.

Only when satisfactorily answered will the ignition be activated.

The company says this new feature eliminates the need for paper-based systems and ensures that vital safety procedures cannot be bypassed.

The EquipManager wirelessly monitors use, controls vehicle access and ensures safety compliance to increase productivity and reduce costs.

In addition to the routine questions, EquipManager can be programmed to enable operators to input other details.

Parameters such as speed, weight of load, running time and number of lifts can also be monitored, helping to improve efficiency.
