Operator ID Made Easy
February 1st 2007

HSE records show that about 70 people are killed and 2000+ seriously injured in accidents involving workplace transport. In many case, it has been found that the operator had not been properly trained in the safe use of the equipment.

Mentor FLT Training now offers optional photographic identification badges as an addition to the certificates delegates receive when successfully completing one of its accredited training courses.

The scheme is aimed at all companies who have MHE and workplace transport as an additional safety measure to ensure that operators using the equipment are fully trained and regularly refreshed and retested.

The plastic credit card sized badges contain all the information required to verify that a person operating a piece of equipment is adequately trained to do so. This allows managers and supervisors to carry out spot checks and to enforce their refresher training policies.

For larger operations, Mentor offers a customised identification badge.
