Going to great lengths
February 1st 2007

Safer handling of long lengths and a 50% cut in loading time are just two of the benefits that a Combilift 4-way forklift has brought to operations at the Stockport branch of industrial door manufacturer, Indupart.

Steel and foam composite insulated panels previously were ordered in a variety of lengths due to the handling limitations of the company's counterbalance and 4-way reach truck. Since the arrival of the easy-to-manoeuvre Combilift with its sideways ability, the company can buy panels in 13.2m lengths, saving time and money.

The 3.5t capacity LPG powered forklift is used to off-load deliveries of panels which, typically, weigh 1.5 to 2t per pack, and take them to outside racking.

It is also used to direct positioning at cutting machines and for loading the finished and packed end product.
