Sign manufacturer Astley Signs was one of the first UK companies to opt for a relatively new Combilift product – a stand-on ST model with a 2.5 tonne capacity, which has improved handling at its Gateshead facility.

The company had been using an extremely old forklift which is no longer manufactured for as long as staff could remember and the lack of spare parts was making routine maintenance practically impossible.

Additionally, the 1 tonne capacity was extremely limiting, and its inability to work outside was hampering streamlined operations.

The Combilift ST model was recommended, as its compact dimensions enable work in aisle widths of just 1.7m.
