Purpose-built October 1st 2004 Weilburger Schramm Coatings (UK) has reduced the cost of materials handling at its Runcorn HQ since replacing a converted reach truck and counterbalance forklift with a Sichelschmidt purpose-built forklift supplied by Ability Handling.
Due to the nature of the products handled, a flameproof forklift was a prerequisite, but logistics manager Phil Anderson was also keen to find a truck flexible enough to handle the varying containers used for raw materials of resins, powders and liquids as well as finished product, both inside and out.
The 1.6t capacity M1216S ASM Zone 2 (Category 3G) Sichelschmidt can offload outside and operates in and around the warehouse, predisposition area and Zone 2 production facility.
Anderson says Having the Sichelschmidt purposebuilt forklift has reduced maintenance costs as it is much more convenient to deal with a dedicated supplier such as Ability Handling. By my reckoning we have cut costs by a third since it has been in use. More articles from Ability Handling: |
