Versatile forklifts
October 1st 2007

Three 4t diesel-powered Combilift 4-way forklifts at Marley Plumbing and Drainage have enabled savings to be made on storage space and ensured safer handling of long loads at the company's manufacturing and distribution site in Kent.

The Combilifts have enabled Marley to replace its old system of sideloaders and counter-balance forklifts for handling 6m lengths of pipe, extruded profiles and large bore pipes.

Stuart Hawkins, warehouse manager, says "The beauty of the Combilifts is their versatility and ability to work as three machines in one. We can offload and manoeuvre product around the site with just one type of forklift. Using one truck eliminates the need for drivers to chop and change from one type of forklift to another, contributing to safer working practices."
