Inspection system for forklift trucks
April 1st 2007

Pre-shift checks are a vital part of safe fork lift truck operation. Regular checks help to ensure that equipment is in a safe working condition, thereby reducing the risk of accidents.

The responsibility for implementing a system that promotes regular inspection of equipment is that of the employer. Operators must be encouraged to carry out checks at the start of each shift or when taking over another truck.

Mentor says its Fork Lift Truck Inspection System is a quick, easy and foolproof concept that can be used to guarantee trucks are checked at the correct time and that records of those checks are maintained.

Each truck has its own checklist that stays with it at all times. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use, the inspection system includes a 50 sheet record book, inspection pocket and two waterproof pockets mounted on the truck.
