White light for sorting
June 1st 2004

Parcelforce Worldwide has brightened up the interior of its 197 new vehicles with Labcrafts Cargo light. Each vehicle has two lights fitted that provide a white light to help workers sorting parcels in the back.

The light is designed to fit into spaces not normally used, such as corners, and projects light into the centre of the vehicle. It is said to provide more than four times as much light per watt as traditional tungsten bulbs. The company says it is possible to reach light levels suggested by the HSE easily without additional power and, in many cases, with fewer light units. Maintenance, downtime and costs are all said to be significantly reduced.
